From a General Labourer to a Foreman All Thanks to M3 Personnel

Find me on:

My name is Danny Le and I've been fortunate enough to earn a position as a Labour Foreman. have been working on a large site now for about 4 months, all thanks to M3 Personnel staff. I came to their Port Coquitlam office just over a year ago looking for general labour and their support has been so helpful.

I tried a lot of different jobs before moving to Coquitlam and settling on construction. I became skilled at concrete and carpentry work and wanted help finding good job sites. Although I had never used a staffing agency, I saw M3 Personnel’s advertisement on Indeed and decided to give them a try. My first experience at M3 Personnel was great; the staff was kind, helpful, and accommodating. Plus, they sent me to a great job site! What more could I ask?

One of the best parts about working in construction is that projects take months to years to complete so if you find a good site, you know you’ll be able to enjoy it for a while. And one of the best parts about partnering with M3 Personnel is that when a job ends, they are already actively looking for other positions for you. They ask enough questions to make sure they fully understand your experience and needs in order to find the best possible placement for you.

When I was first dispatched to a site, I was excited to meet new people and work with the crew. I ended up being promoted to skilled labour then again to carpenter, and worked there until the site was completed. I then decided to take a bit of time off but when I returned, M3 Personnel staff were happy to help me find my next role, which ended up being the Foreman position. I couldn't have been happier. The training and orientation are a little different for each job but I always feel prepared. I typically work from 7 AM to 3:30 PM with occasional opportunities for overtime work. I can honestly say I feel valued, supported, and compensated fairly.

Allow me to share a few things I’ve learned on the job: assertion helps get tasks done in a timely manner, patience goes a long way in diffusing tense situations, the best ideas for solutions come when we stay calm, and paying attention is underrated (it’s best to get things right the first time).

I'm constantly learning and applying skills that I've gained this past year and it's impressed the site supervisors. It has also enabled me to begin training another M3 Personnel general labourer.

I know there are a lot of opportunities out there and with the guidance and support of the team at M3 Personnel, I see a great career path ahead.

If you can’t quite see your path, reach out. They’ll be happy to help.
